hari_klia has always had a strong affinity for art, but their dominant curiosity for knowledge pushed them in a journalistic direction early on. Through several internships and volunteer jobs, in Vienna and Berlin, they finally landed at the radio station FluxFM, which led to freelance work there. At the same time, they studied communication sciences and English, later American studies. Working artistically, however, especially immersively and in a performative way, never left them and so they decided to study fine arts. Neither the thirst for knowledge has left them until today. They are concerned above all with conceptual approaches and the ideas behind the artworks almost more than the artworks themselves. Aesthetics and effect are important aspects, but the drive behind a work and the outlook over it are indispensable parts of the artistic drive.
hari_klia was socialized female, defines themselves as queer, as cis-woman, as gender-fluid, uses the pronouns they/them or none or all with the gender asterisk inclusive and standing for all possibilities.
hari_klia works against patriarchical structures, sexism, homo hostility, queer hostility, racism, fascism, and all the other horrible things.
hari_klia works for feminism, queerness, lesbianism, gender diversity, leftism, inclusion, intersectionality, empowerment and all the other great things.
